I haven’t been able to post anything on the blog recently because we had been paralyzed by the decision to add-on or not. Every update/renovation, even the smallest of updates like having curtains made, were on-hold until we could make a decision. After all, if we added on, the whole floor plan was going to change and the risk of a bunch of re-dos was high.
I was for not adding-on and Will was for. His deal was bigger risks = bigger gains. My deal was play it safe = happy wife. So we brought in a consultant to help us make the decision. She was steep, but worth it – thank you Karen Way White for finding a middle ground.
Taking into consideration all the parts – current place in life, future plans, the economy, the street were on, the zip code we’re in, our personal economy – we decided not to add-on… At least not now. So Will and I sat down and created a plan where we could go nuts, where we could basically do it all, all our selves, and if in a year or two we want to create a 78703 worthy master bath, then we can. We could evenly add the bathroom to our existing floor plan.
I told Will that he wouldn’t be disappointed, “no Mr. Rodenbusch you will not be disappointed!”
Off we go. I’ve got drywall to hang and tile to lay and maybe start demo-ing the kitchen, and I need to think about our roof – to pitch or not to pitch…meh.

still waiting for my invitation to come see the house
