This weekend, Will helped me put up our new drum pendant. Since we first saw the house back in August, I’ve been dreaming of the day we could remove these “beautiful” Texas fans/chandeliers.
As the dining room was coming along, I realized that it was getting a little too traditional, a little too woodsy. A pottery barn like wrought iron chandelier would have looked perfect… but almost too perfect, so I opted for a Restoration Hardware look-a-like. Picture of the original below:
I spotted the pendant at Restoration Harware in Houston, but with a $4o0 price tag, I knew there had to have been a cheaper option. I scowed the RH outlets and Pottery Barn and a few other places and nothing! At least nothing that was cheaper than $400. I ended up finding a swag pendant at CB2.com – check it out. I loved it. I just took the drum from the swag and attached it to a cheapy pendant/rod assembly from Lowes.
Perfect! Pendant from CB2 ($60) and the rod assembly ($35) – $95!!!
