Decided at the last minute Sunday night to rip out a pocket door in order to widen the entry way to the kitchen.
For a long time I thought I would need to hire a contractor because the wall was load bearing. However the more Will and I thought it through, we realized that there was a pocket door in almost half that wall which meant that the part we wanted to open up was hollow and not load bearing at all! Within 5 minutes of that epiphany we were sawing it out.
Our friend Josh is going to help us re frame it. Sometimes if feels like all we do around here is tear things up.
