Thank you for visiting CoraRodenbusch.com and taking part in my journey as a first time home owner!
My husband and I purchased our 1950’s ranch in 2008 and have enjoyed making our home a more lovely place to live ever since. We love demo and detest dust – a love hate relationship that takes place after normal business hours as both Will and I have day jobs to fund my remodeling addiction.
My goal is to get the look I want for the best price available. Most renovators/designers start with budgets, but blow them when they come across the faucet of their dreams. I try to remove all budget limitations and just focus on spending the least amount of money possible for the best design. Believe me, I think budgets are a great place to start and should be taken seriously, but I believe that you will find that you actually spend less in the end by grilling each purchase price vs starting with a number and working your way down. A budget often gives me the excuse of using all of my allotted funds whether it’s necessary or not. I find that I get the best results by asking one question before I sign – Is there a chance that I’m paying more than I should?
Thank you Craigslist, spray paint, DIY Network, outlets, and coupons for allowing me to live in luxury when I only had pennies to spend.

Cora! I had never heard of Aaron Bros. until I read your post. This weekend I printed out the coupon and ventured to the store…it’s great! I ended up getting 2 frames for under $12! Thank you for the recommendation and the coupon. Hope all is well! We miss you!
My dear Corie.
I stumbled upon this renovated blog and am jaw-droppingly impressed. You have a rare talent for birthing beatiful pieces and environments from unsuspecting items! Career change in the near future (wait, no Polish Sausage ad agency?) Will you be in Austin the week of 12/28? I’d love to meet up.
